Foothills Humane Society Receives Grant From Polk County Community Foundation
The grant and matching donations will support Foothills Humane Society’s “Let the Dogs Out” initiative.
Foothills is pleased to announce that it is the proud recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Polk County Community Foundation (PCCF). The Foundation has been a loyal supporter of the Foothills Humane Society and is an invaluable partner. The generous donation along with one hundred percent matching funds, will support the “Let the Dogs Out” initiative.
The timely grant contributes to the Foothills Humane Society’s “Let the Dogs Out,” a phase of an overall expansion and improvement program which will be announced in January 2020. The turnouts will allow dogs and puppies more time outdoors for play and exercise which significantly reduces the stress of being at a shelter. Each concrete run is eight feet by 20 feet and is enclosed by an eight-foot fence, partially covered by a roof, providing shade and protection for the animals.
Polk County Community Foundation awarded the unrestricted grant through a competitive application process. The Foundation has been dedicated to advancing philanthropy and improving the quality of life for all citizens in the community centered in and around Polk County since 1975. “All of us at Foothills are so grateful to the Polk County Community Foundation for their support and commitment to the wellbeing of our animals,” says Michele Brulé, Executive Director, FHS.
Construction is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2020.
