Meet Evalynn Hyra! Foothills Humane Society has had the pleasure of having Evalynn as a volunteer for over eight years. Calling her a volunteer doesn’t do her justice. Evalynn is tireless in her commitment to the cause of readying the dogs at FHS for adoption. As a part of the volunteer dog training program, Evalynn has been responsible for the training and behavioral improvements of over 100 hard-to-place canines. She is always game to take on a new challenge and her consistent efforts have been responsible for saving the lives of several of her charges. FHS is beyond lucky to have her.
In addition to her commitment to training she is always willing to transport, volunteer at events, fundraise, advocate, and even foster. A note from one of our dog trainers, Kayla Shealey of 2 Lead with Love, “Over the years, Evalynn’s help has been invaluable to me and all of her canine companions here. I can give her one of our more challenging residents and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she will show up, do it right, and push herself and her doggie pupil for improvement daily. I can never thank her enough for being here to help save the lives of some of the more challenging dogs that have entered our doors at FHS. If I had a dozen like Evalynn, the dogs at FHS would never lack for the training work they need.”
We are so grateful to Evalynn for the time, dedication, and patience she has given the pups of FHS. Her consistency and continual support have truly made a difference in the lives of so many dogs. We applaud the many years of service you’ve given to Foothills and the work you’ve put into the dogs that needed the most. Thank you, Evalynn!
